Save Time

Mail copies of case records to our firm, and we will enter the data into CaseMap and TimeMap and electronically transfer files to your office.  Better yet, scan your files into Adobe and email them, or send them via CD. If you have a large case, multiple litigation support personnel from our office, as well as from your firm, can work simultaneously and synchronize updates to your master file.

Overview of Our Chronology and Analysis Process

With all cases, as we review records, we capture any number of items into CaseMap’s database:

• Date [date of appointment, prescription, note, etc.]
• Source [hardcopy source of information such as bates stamp or actual record]
• Provider [name of treatment provider]
• Appointment [checkbox to indicate a completed medical appointment]
• Diagnosis [diagnoses documented in the record]
• Symptoms [medical symptoms documented in the record]
• Meds/Scripts [prescriptions in the medical record for medications, tests, referrals to other providers, durable medical equipment, essential services, home exercise programs, etc.]
• Tests [results of specific documented tests]
• Injections [medical injections documented in the record]
• Prognosis [medical prognosis if documented in the medical record by an MD or DO]
• Description [miscellaneous category for other medical information]
• Fact Text [pertinent medical information as it appears in the medical record]
• Any Other Category

Once we capture this data, we sort, view, display, and print information in any combination.  For instance, we might first view the fields  “date, provider, and fact text”, sort the data chronologically and print that particular report.  Next, we might sort out any entry that listed a symptom of  “low back pain. ” As you can see, the possibilities are unlimited.  CaseSoft® makes it very easy to create custom fields so that we can tailor information to your particular cases.  In addition, a feature called  “Issue Linker” allows us to sort all fields for items  “linked” to a particular issue and view and print reports by that issue.

Colossus

We have successfully used this database to complete medical chronologies that mirror data requested by the insurance industry  “mega-software-system” Colossus.  Again, once data has been entered into CaseSoft®, the sort feature makes it extremely easy to find pertinent data tracked by Colossus such as treatment gaps, symptoms (including date span), treating physician information (total number of treatments, date last treated), and prognosis, for example.  This has been helpful for attorneys submitting settlement proposals to insurance companies utilizing Colossus.

Transfer Facts Electronically Between Programs

Our use of the CaseSoft® suite of litigation support products allows us to effortlessly transfer data between multiple programs.  This means data is entered only once, saving both time and money.  TimeMap creates professional timelines drawing from the data in the CaseSoft® database.  Timelines are created with “click-and-send” technology.  With TextMap, deposition transcripts can be saved, taking advantage of technology available in computerized court reporting machines.  Using TextMap, one can read depositions and locate any word, phrase, date, or number in seconds.  Medical records and other documents can be scanned giving instant on-screen access to litigation documents.
